About
About this blog
This blog is about skiing and mountaineering activities in the European Alps. It provides information on how to travel around, how to find interesting spots and gives examples of my personal trips throughout the mountains. It is also about my journey from alpine novice to a somewhat intermediate mountaineer. Since I have been an enthusiastic skier ever since my early childhood, backcountry skiing (the natural extension of alpinism during the winter months) will form a good part of this blog.
It all started back in 2006 when I took an alpine introduction course in Chamonix, the unquestioned capital of alpinism in Europe. Since then I have been constantly improving my alpine skills which are still lacking in many respects. But who cares if you have fun given you choose your goals in accordance to your skills and the conditions.
